Lunch will be served during the lunch break in the MPS foyer. 

Welcome Reception

A welcome reception will be held in the MPS foyer on Monday, Aug 26, starting after the science session.

Posters & Drinks Session

On Tuesday, August 27, we will have an extended poster viewing session with some drinks and more, directly after the afternoon session. Stay tuned! 

Excursions

On Wednesday afternoon, August 28, you have the possibility to participate in one of the following excursions (all tours in English):

1. Göttingen city tour #1 "Rund ums Gänseliesel"
   Meeting point: in front of tourist information office, market place (address: Markt 8, Göttingen)
   Start: 16:00
   End: 18:00
2. Göttingen city tour #2 "Gauß in Göttingen - Sternstunden der Mathematik"
   Meeting point: in front of tourist information office, market place (address: Markt 8, Göttingen)

3. Göttingen city tour #3 "Stadt, die Wissen schafft - die Geschichte der Universität"
   Meeting point: in front of tourist information office, market place (address: Markt 8, Göttingen)

4. Visit to the "Alte Sternwarte" (old astronomical observatory):
   Meeting point: Gänseliesel
   Start: 16:00
   End: 18:30
5. visit to the Erdbebenwarte (Old Geophysical Laboratory):
   This is a nice walk of around 10km through the Göttinger Stadtwald (forest). We will walk from MPS to the Old Geophysical Observatory (~4km, approx. 150m height difference). The walk to the Erdbebenwarte and from there to town is to a large part following forest roads (gravel) or hiking trails. Don´t wear your newest stiletto heels… ;-). On the way back from the Erdbebenwarte to Göttingen we will pass a kiosk/Biergarten in the forest, where some drinks and snacks can be purchased. From there it´s all the way downhill to the city center.

   End: 19:00 (in the city center, or later - depending on the duration of the Biergarten stop in the forest))

The number of participants per excursion is limited. You will be asked for your preference at the registration desk, located in the MPS foyer. First come first serve!

Conference Dinner

The conference dinner will be held at the Old Botanical Garden of Göttingen on Thursday, August 29, 8pm. 

All events (including the lunch) are included in the registration fee.
